The four Wallfacers were selected and nominated by the permanent members and confirmed and announced by the Planetary Defense Council in March, Year 3 of the Crisis Era. Their public actions are recorded on this site as usual; their true strategic intent is not disclosed pursuant to the Wallfacer Act—this Committee is also unaware of it.

Selection Procedure

  • Candidates are nominated by permanent members according to their respective standards, agreed upon by consensus among permanent members, and submitted to the Council for confirmation;
  • Prior to the publication of the list, security assessments of candidates are completed globally in parallel;
  • Upon acceptance of the appointment, the identity of a Wallfacer becomes public information for life, and their movements are published on this site.

Common Public Misconceptions

  • "Wallfacers do nothing" – Incorrect. The Act does not stipulate what Wallfacers must do, but resource allocation must be managed through the Committee's ledger and audited afterwards;
  • "Wallfacer actions are smoke screens, all fake" – Unfounded. Public actions are real; only the Wallfacer knows the relationship between reality and "smoke screens";
  • "It is possible to deduce a Wallfacer's plan" – The Committee advises against any such attempts. See official statement PDC/WF/STM-06.
