FACT CHECK · Verification of the "Truth about the Wallfacer Project"

"The Wallfacer Fever" has spawned a large volume of fabricated content under the guise of "truth." This column verifies each item one by one. Verification is based solely on public ledgers, hearing records, and this site's document numbering system.

Unfounded

"The Wallfacers control the United Nations, and national governments have been sidelined"

Wallfacers are nominated by the permanent members of the Council and confirmed by the Council; their resource allocation is managed through the Committee's ledger and subject to post-facto audit. All decision-making and appropriation procedures are on record (document numbers PDC/RES, PDC/WF series), and there is no factual basis for the claim that governments have been "sidelined."

"Luo Ji is a spy planted by Trisolaris; otherwise, why would the Trisolarans fear him?"

Quite the opposite—the publicly verifiable fact is that the Trisolaran civilization has ordered Luo Ji's assassination multiple times. The Trisolaran civilization fearing an individual is a proposition entirely different from that individual's loyalty to the Trisolaran civilization. The Committee does not know the answer, but the "spy theory" directly contradicts its known facts.

"The Wallfacer Project budget has exceeded the total military expenditures of all countries"

Public ledgers show cumulative disbursements of USD 51.2 billion over a three-year period (PDC/WF/RES-BULLETIN/03). This figure amounts to only a fraction of the global annual defense expenditure in Year 4 of the Crisis Era. Exaggerated figures paired with exaggerated conspiracies constitute the fixed formula for such fabrications.

"A certain Wallfacer has secretly built a superweapon"

Every disbursement in the public ledger corresponds to verifiable projects and test facilities, and is subject to post-facto audit. "Secretly completed" cannot be verified—note that the reason for "non-verifiability" is that the fabricator provides no document number, not that the Council is concealing information.

Misleading

"Wallfacers can break the law—the Act grants them unlimited power"

Article 9 of the Wallfacer Act explicitly states: exemption of strategic intent does not exempt crimes; Wallfacer conduct must not violate mandatory provisions of relevant national laws. What is exempted is the "obligation to explain intent," not "the law itself."

"The Council actually knows the inside story but pretends not to"

This is the only rumor the Council cannot refute with documents—because refuting it would only require repeating "we do not know." What the Council can do is point out institutional facts: under Article 5 of the Wallfacer Act, staff members inquiring about Wallfacer intent constitutes a violation of the law; this site welcomes public supervision of the Council itself. Please direct your supervisory energy toward us, rather than toward speculating about Wallfacers.
